Federal authorities recently raided an abortion clinic in Philadelphia. What they found at the Women's Medical Society Clinic is being described as "deplorable and unsanitary."
There were reports of blood on the floor of the clinic and parts of aborted fetuses stored in jars.
Only one person with a medical license was working at the facility at night, even though the clinic is open during the day.
The person in charge of the clinic is Dr. Kermit Gosnell. His license has been suspended during the investigation.
In one instance, he allegedly directed a clinic employee to conduct gynecological exams and give pain killers to patients. One patient died after being given painkillers, plus anesthesia, before an abortion.
The investigation into the clinic continues. No criminal charges have been filed.
