Conservatives are calling it the "Mount Vernon Statement."
More than 80 leaders and activists gathered at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate Wednesday to sign the document.
Ken Blackwell, one of the signers of the Mount Vernon Statement, appeared on CBN Newswatch to talk about why this document is so important.
Blackwell is active in the Republican National Committee and works with the Family Research Council. Click play for his comments.
They say it renews the conservative movement's beliefs, values and principles found in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
The authors tell us it's written for economic conservatives, social conservatives and national security conservatives.
The signing comes just one day before the 37th Annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington. It is the largest annual gathering of conservative activists.
