Town Spills Beans about Father's Surprise Visit

A soldier in Iraq wanted to surprise his daughter by coming home early.

Like any proud dad, Maj. Michael Burghadt wanted to see his daughter play her final home basketball game.

He planned the surprise trip for weeks. But like all small towns -- secrets are hard to keep. Someone spilled the beans and put welcome home on the towns billboard.

Bughadt's daughter didn't care, she was just happy her dad made it to the game.

"I was so concerned about missing her freshman year, starting point guard as freshman and I know it mean a lot to her she worked so hard for it and wanted to be here," Michael said.

"Still surprising because I didn't think he was going to be back in time - for anything," his daughter Holly said.

Burgardt gets to spend two weeks with his daughter before going back to Iraq.
