Two men have been arrested and charged in connection to a string of fires in Smith County, located in east Texas.

Nineteen-year-old Jason Robert Bourque and 21-year-old Daniel George McAllister were charged Sunday with felony arson for setting fire to a church in Smith County last month.

The men are suspected of intentionally setting other fires in east Texas, where 10 churches have burned since January 1.

National and local law enforcement agencies worked together collecting evidence and following tips. A call to a task force hotline led to the arrests.

"I want to say thank you to the citizens of Smith County for stepping up and helping us," said Lt. Tony Dana of Smith County Sherriff's Department.

Bond for each suspect was set at $10 million.
