More than 6,000 Americans have evacuated Haiti since last week's earthquake. But the U.S. State Department said it still has not been able to account for nearly 5,000 Americans known to have been in Haiti.
At least 33 Americans have been confirmed dead.
Meanwhile, search and recovery efforts continue in the quake ravaged country. In Port-au-Prince, some are wondering how much longer the rescue efforts will last before transitioning into a recovery effort, ABC News reported.
Airborne Corps Maj. Gen. Daniel Allyn said, "We fully expect that we will transition very soon from the search phase to the recovery phase, and obviously, we continue to be in prayer."
