In Texas, a new billboard has popped up along a major interstate that encourages people who don't believe in God to band together.
Just outside of Austin, drivers along Interstate 35 are getting an eyeful. A billboard posted there reads, "Don't believe in God? Join the Club."
The sign was placed there by an atheist group known as the Austin Council of Reason to encourage the ungodly to unite.
"It's basically a call to join whichever organization you like that accepts people like us," said Don Rhoades, the group's coordinator.
It is estimated more than 160,000 motorists pass by the billboard every day.
Pastor Kirk Patrick of the Grace Christian Center in Round Rock welcomes the billboard, because he says it gets people talking about faith issues.
"It's age-old question that man has had this struggle with God and if there is a God," Patrick said.
Similar billboards line the freeways in Dallas, Houston; Tucson and Phoenix, Ariz.; New Orleans, La.; and Seattle, Wash.
