A church in Chicago encouraged thousands of troops this Fourth of July with hand-written letters.
Members of Salem Baptist Church held a worship service and prayed for our troops before sending the letters to the post office.
"I pray you would consecrate each letter, and that, each letter would reach each soldier that needs to hear the words that are on the letter," Rev. James Meeks said. "We've done our part, and now, God we put it in your hand that the postal service will be so every soldier gets just the letter they need."
The church met its goal of sending 25,000 letters.
