Queen Makes Rare Visit to NYC

For the first time in almost 35 years, Queen Elizabeth II made a rare visit to New York City.

The 84-year-old British monarch addressed the United Nations to make an appeal for peace and unity, Tuesday.

She also paid tribute to the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The Queen laid a wreath at Ground Zero in honor of the 67 British lives lost in the attacks.

This is the Queen's first appearance in front of the U.N. since 1957. Her latest trip to the U.S. only about five hours and ends with a visit to Hanover Square where she will open the British Garden of Remembrance.

Queen Elizabeth is traveling to with her husband Prince Philip.
