Despite the human race's extraordinary capacity for invention and progress, author David Kupelian says society has an age-old blind spot -- we don't understand the nature of evil and how it works -- and he partially blames the church.
In his new book, How Evil Works: Understanding and Overcoming the Destructive Forces that are Transforming America, Kupelian explains this concept.
He spoke with CBN News about what it takes to truly understand the good and bad of the world and what Christians must do to ensure our moral foundations remain in place.
"When we say 'evil' we think crime and genocide and horrible mega crimes. [Evil] is not just that," Kupelian said. "It's the little building blocks -- the lies, the seductions, the intimidations, the wrong relationships we have -- that build into great evil and we really desperately need to understand that."
