Many Christians have either experienced or know of a church rift caused by adultery, failed leadership, financial dealings and other issues.

It often leads to pain and bitterness -- as author and former church pastor Stephen Mansfield experienced.

Mansfield resigned from his church because of marital issues and says what followed was a spread of "church hurt" Christians must learn to overcome.
