Southern Baptists have seen great success in their missionary work in Haiti following the January earthquake that rocked the island nation.
They say their missionaries have led more than 85,000 Haitian people to Christ. The numbers were released on Wednesday at the final session of the Southern Baptist Convention's annual meeting that was held in Orlando, Fla.
Richard Harris, the interim president of the denomination's North American Mission Board, addressed the convention's audience during the final meeting of the day. He also reported the growth of 135 new Southern Baptist churches across the small country.
