Joni Eareckson-Tada is recovering after successful breast cancer surgery.

The 60-year-old author and minister to the disabled will need chemotherapy treatments, but doctors say the type of cancer she endured is 'highly survivable.'

Tada has been a quadriplegic since her teens. Her ministry, Joni and Friends, provides wheelchairs to disabled people around the world.

The ministry is asking for continued prayers on her behalf.
