A Kentucky woman is living proof that it's never too late to go back to class -- even when the subject is self defense.
At 89, Ann Brewer is the oldest person in her state to take and pass a concealed handgun course.
The sweet grandmother lives alone and said she needed to "pack some heat" for safety reasons.
"I keep that little loaded gun beside me at night, because I can sleep. I needed more security," she said. "I put in a security system and took this course and keep a loaded gun by my bed."
Brewer passed the gun course with flying colors and is now licensed to carry a concealed firearm.
She encourages others, no matter their age, to sign up for gun safety courses.
