Joni Eareckson-Tada, founder of the ministry Joni and Friends, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Eareckson - Tada is an internationally-beloved artist, who is also quadraplegic and an advocate for the disabled.

Her doctors say more tests will be performed and she will undergo surgery within the week.

Eareckson - Tada has kept her positive outlook. She says she will "pour all her energies into getting better."
