Over the years, many professional athletes have publicly given glory to God for their accomplishments in their respective sports.

Rev. Greg Smith, a licensed therapist and author of the new book entitled Sports Theology, says the highest level of personal performance is achieved by utilizing our God-given gifts.

"Athletic gifts are no different than those of compassion, wisdom, leadership, etc," Smith explained in the book's introduction. "If we move away from God, or let things get between Him and us, we limit His power, which limits our potential."

In a recent interview with CBN News, Smith spoke about how God encourages us to "develop and maximize the gifts He has given us." Click play to watch the interview.
