It's what many aspiring musicians dream about, but only a few ever achieve.
Eight-year-old Isabella Tong is going to show off her piano performance skills at New York City's Carnegie Hall in June.
What's most remarkable is the fact that the Irvine, Calif. third grader has only played the piano for two and a half years.
"It's tremendous for an 8-year-old, because for me I didn't play in Carnegie Hall when I was in my mid-20s," music school owner Ethan Dong said. "So this is such an encouragement for all the youngsters."
Tong won a competition that landed her the opportunity to play at the prestigious concert venue. She has been called a musical genius by some musicians who have witnessed her amazing talent.
"I think that, that's really great, because I don't have to take like 10 years of practice and then go there," Tong said.
"It's totally beyond my expectation, you know, we're just very surprised and thrilled," Isabella's mother, Samantha Tong, said.
Isabella is scheduled to perform June 13.
