Calif. Woman Earns College Diploma at 94

An elderly woman in California recently proved it's never too late to earn a college degree.

Hazel Soares, 94, received her degree in art history Saturday from Mills College in Oakland, Calif. The San Leandro, Calif. woman is believed to be the world's second oldest person to graduate from college.

"It's taken me quite a long time because I've had a busy life," she said. "I'm finally achieving it, and it makes me feel really good."

Soares said she hopes others realize that it's never too late pursue a college education, and said it was exciting for her to go back to school.

She now wants to begin working at a San Francisco museum.
