Growing up with two brothers can be tough on a little girl. However, it paid off for four-year-old Josie Kuhns.
She was almost kidnapped while on vacation with her parents and her two brothers in South Carolina. But she has one older brother to thank for her rescue.
Eight-year-old Nathan pulled Josie away from the stranger and started scratching him.
"I had to do like, really hard, like starting from here to be able to dig out the skin," the boy said. "His hand was over her mouth, so she wouldn't say anything."
"That's why I didn't say any words. I wouldn't even say my name!," Josie added.
"He's a hero." said Erin Kuhns, the children's mother. "I mean, you look up the word 'hero' in the dictionary, and you look up 'heroism,' and that is exactly what he is to me."
Nathan says he purposely scratched the man to try and gather DNA evidence, something he said he learned from watching crime shows with his dad. He hopes police can use the scratchings of skin to catch the suspect.
