Residents in a San Diego, Calif. neighborhood got a surprise visit by a hot air balloon that had to make an emergency landing.
The balloon ran out of fuel and had to stop unexpectedly in a field Saturday evening, police officials said. It dodged power lines before landing about 25 feet from Jason and Reanna Hightower's backyard.
"Spring and summer, most evening you'll see at least half a dozen off on the horizon to the west, but they never get anywhere close to us like this," Jason Hightower said.
"It sounded like someone was jack-hammering the concrete in the back yard," added Reanna Hightower.
No one was injured from the incident. Officials say such incidents only occur about twice a year.
