A Pennsylvania bus driver has saved the life of a man she didn't even know -- by giving up her vital organ to a fellow bus driver.
Bernadette Rodriguez may not see herself as a hero but her co-worker sure thinks so. Jesse Gonzales recently learned that he had a life-threatening illness and needed a kidney transplant.
That's when Bernadette stepped in, trusting in what she believed God was leading her to do.
"She called me. She said, 'Jesse, I'm a match, I'm gonna go through with this. I'm going to leave everything to God,'" Gonzales recalled. "And that's how it started."
"I just did what I knew was right to do. I knew I had to do it. I couldn' t walk away from it," Rodriguez explained.
Gonzales had the operation in October. The pair say they're now as healthy as ever.
