Autumn is a beautiful time of the year with all the leaves on the trees changing to various colors and shades of yellow, orange, red and brown.
Along with the leaves changing colors, CBN News found an incredible phenomenon about to occur in a region near Cashiers, N.C. It's where the shadow of a giant shadow of a bear appears every fall.
The image is created by the sun reflecting on bumpy peaks on the mountain. Locals say the shadow is like a bear coming out of hibernation.
Visitors can spot the gigantic shadow on sunny days at around 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon for about 30 minutes. The image appears behind Whiteside Mountain located about four miles from Cashiers. The town is located 75 miles south of Asheville on Highway 64.
The bear makes his appearance every year in the same place from mid-October through the first part of November.
If you don't get a chance to see it this fall, don't worry. The bear makes another appearance about mid-February.
