The movie Expecting Mary that released Sept. 10 is being hailed as a family film about faith, love and sacrifice.
The film follows the story of a pregnant, unmarried teenager who runs away from home and ends up in a trailer park. Residents there take her in and give her the love and support she needs to have her baby and get her life back on track.
Expecting Mary has a star-studded cast including Academy Award nominee Elliot Gould, Golden Globe winners Linda Gray and Cybil Shepard, Olesya Rulin of High School Musical and "Kiss" member Gene Simmons.
Della Reese, the veteran actress known by many Christians for her role in the show "Touched by an Angel," also stars in the movie. She told CBN News Expecting Mary is a positive film for all ages.
"It's another approach to the birth of the Holy Child," she told CBN News. "It's not that she is giving birth to a holy child, but the things that she has to go through to prepare to give this birth [are similar]. She's a young girl and she didn't expect to be in this condition at this time."
