Chicagoan Valerie Brown understands what it's like to be hungry. For years, she depended on food pantries to feed herself and her family.
After becoming a Christian, she was tapped to coordinate the food pantry at her local church.
Brown's work recently earned her recognition from Tyson Foods as a "Hunger All-Star" in her fight against hunger.
"The pantry was not about me," she told CBN News. "It was about feeding the hunger because I realized not everybody can't eat a nice dinner."
Brown recently talked to CBN News about her rocky journey from poverty and uncertainty to becoming a secure woman of faith. Click play to watch Charlene Israel's report.
