First lady Michelle Obama invited military families to be the first to see this year's White House Christmas decorations.
"I want to thank all of the troops, all of our veterans, and all of our military families," Mrs. Obama said at Wednesday's unveiling. "Your service and sacrifice inspire us all."
The theme this year is "Shine, Give, Share."
Many of the designs honor members of the military and their families, including the official White House tree in the Blue Room.
The room is also decorated with cards made by the children of military personnel.
Approximately 85,000 visitors are expected to tour the Christmas decorations this holiday season.
