The start of the holiday season means more family films will hit the silver screen and be released on DVD by the major studios.
One of the newest movies, "New Year's Eve", from veteran director Gary Marshall, is being billed as a romantic comedy.
According to the movie's website, the film celebrates love, hope, and forgiveness in intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year.
It features an assemble cast that includes Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Hillary Swank, Seth Myers from NBC's "Saturday Night Live," and Sofia Vergara from ABC's "Modern Family."
The movie is rated PG-13 for language and sexual references.
Focus on the Family's movie critic Bob Waliszewski reviewed "New Year's Eve" and other movies opening in theaters this weekend on the CBN News Channel's Morning News, Dec. 9.
