Operation Blessing International, the faith-based humanitarian organization that helps millions around the globe each year, has partnered with ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Trademark Construction to provide a new home for a Virginia Beach, Va. family.
Fred and Beverly Hill-Burdette are the owners of the home being remodeled. The couple has shared their home with over 35 foster children and has just recently adopted six girls. In addition to sharing their home, the family helps the local community through a mission to feed and clothe the homeless. Their home is in need of extensive renovation.
"God told me to feed people just as he feeds me," Beverly Hill-Burdette told the Daily Press. "I knew that I had to go out and help others and feed them just as God feeds me and my family every day."
When Operation Blessing discovered additional funding was needed for the project, they provided $20,000 worth of lumber and other basic building materials so the Hill-Burdette home could be completed.
Operation Blessing volunteer staff have also helped with the construction the house.
"We are honored to team up with such professionals as ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Trademark Construction to provide hope to a local family and rally together with our community right here at home on a project that will change lives forever!" said Jody Herrington, Operation Blessing's U.S. disaster relief director.
The project will completed Saturday. The episode will air on ABC in several weeks.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs Sundays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
