Dove Awards Move to Atlanta for First Time

The Gospel Music Association announced the nominees for its 42nd Annual Dove Awards, and for the first time, the awards ceremony will take place in Atlanta.

All previous Dove Awards ceremonies have taken place in either Nashville or Memphis, Tenn. But this year, the GMA wanted to do things differently.

The historic Fox Theatre is one of the most beloved landmarks in Atlanta and will host the awards on April 20.

The list of nominees for Male Vocalist of the Year are: Chris August, Doug Anderson, Jason Crabb, Brandon Heath, Israel Houghton, Marvin Sapp, and Chris Tomlin.

The nominees for Female Vocalist of the Year are: Audrey Assad, Francesca Battistelli, Natalie Grant, Britt Nicole, Janet Paschal, Kerrie Roberts, and Laura Story.

The nominees for Group of the Year are: Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Gaither Vocal Band, Mercy Me, Mikes Chair, Sidewalk Prophets, and Tenth Avenue North.

The Gospel Music Channel will broadcast the 42nd annual Dove Awards on April 24th, which is Easter Sunday. The show will air from 7-9 p.m. EST.
