TUCSON, Ariz. - Devoted Christians Dorwan and Mavy Stoddard were two victims of the Jan. 8 shooting rampage during a public event in Tucson, Ariz.

Both previously widowed, the couple married about 15 years ago. Since then, they'd been very active in the benevolence ministry of Tucson's Mountain Avenue Church of Christ.

Dorwan, 76, died when he shielded his wife from the gunman's attack. Mavy suffered three gunshot wounds to the legs, and is recovering at the hospital.

CBN News reporter Chuck Holton spoke with Mountain Avenue Church of Christ pastor Mike Nowak about the couple and their faith in Christ.

He said Mavy is rejoicing, knowing that her husband is with the Lord, and how they had confidence in their salvation.
