Ice Brings Unusual Sights to Mich., Miss.

For most in America, there's no doubting winter is here, and with the cold weather comes ice.

Residents in Michigan made the best of Old Man Winter's bite by creating their own ice chess game.

The life-size chess set made entirely out of ice was carved for a new show on The Food Network.

The board and pieces will be in Grand Rapids all winter, or for as long as the weather cooperates.

But in Jackson, Miss., ice had employees at a local television station ducking and dodging, Wednesday.

Giant icicles broke off of a nearby transmission tower just above the station's parking lot, forcing workers to sprint to and from their cars.

Warmer temperatures after a cold weekend are to blame for the "ice attack."
