Aid Group Pitches in to Rebuild Joplin Ballpark

A little league baseball park in Joplin, Mo., is almost ready for teams to take the field again thanks to Operation Blessing International.

Sunny Jim Park was destroyed by the multi-vortex tornado that struck the city located in the southwest part of the state on May 22.

Operation Blessing, the Virginia Beach, Va.-based charity aid organization, teamed up with the Home Depot to renovate the park.

Work crews fixed fences, removed broken poles, and reconstructed an entire outfield wall.

The goal is to have the park completely finished by the local baseball league's season closing ceremonies later this month.
