Transplant lists are often very long with the names of people who need organ donations to stay alive.
But what happens if no donors are a match?
Selina Hodge, who lives in Florida, needs a new kidney. For the last three years, the 28-year-old has had to undergo kidney dialysis every night.
After exhausting every option, Hodge still couldn't find a donor, so she decided to take the matter in her own hands.
Hodge posted an ad on Craigslist to find a new kidney and the response has been overwhelming.
More than 300 people have contacted Hodge with their thoughts and prayers. Many others have offered to be tested to see if they are a match.
"I'm so thankful, letting me know there's still kind-hearted people out there in the world. It's like, 'Wow, people still care,'" Hodge said.
"I'm hoping I can get this transplant before the year is over. My birthday is New Year's Eve, so I'm hoping that will be my birthday gift," she added.
Hodge says she's responding to all of the e-mails as quickly as she can and she's hopeful she'll find a match soon.
