Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel around the country and still have all the conveniences of home?
The Minnesota-based company River Cities is hoping to turn that idea into a reality with its floating condominium community.
River Cities founder David Nelson came up with the idea after living in a house boat for the past 23 years. The condo community would float along major rivers and dock at city ports like Pittsburgh and Chattanooga.
"Things aren't a whole lot different than living on land. The mail service will just be a little bit delayed," Nelson explained. "They'll have all the other amenities they have on land like email and television."
"We'll be so stable that, not only will we have a billiards room aboard, but you won't be allowed motion as an excuse for poor putting on the golf course," he added.
Each River City will have 185-200 condos and amenities like a swimming pool, grocery store and an 18-hole golf course.
There will be three different ownership plans for people to choose from. For full ownership, condo prices will range from about $310,000 to $1 million.
