X-Men explores its roots in the sequel "First Class," due to hit theaters this weekend.

The science fiction film, set in 1963, tells the story of how a young Charles Xavier starts up a school for mutants with the help of his future arch-enemy.

"Before they became the worst of enemies, Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr were the best of friends. We guess you could say their relationship mutated," Plugged-In film critic Paul Asay writes.

Meanwhile, the animated "Kung Fu Pand 2," already in theaters, is dominating the box office.

Focus on the Family movie critic Bob Waliszewski reviewed both movies on the CBN News Channel's Midday, June 3.
