It's summertime, which means the summer movie season is finally here.
"The Green Lantern" and "Mr. Popper's Penguins" are two family friendly movies that make their box office debuts this weekend.
Baby boomers may remember "The Green Lantern" comic book series from the late 1950s. The new film is based on the comic book character created by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger.
"Mr. Popper's Penguins" is based on the book by Richard and Florence Atwater.
In the updated version of the story, Mr. Popper is a driven businessman who is clueless when it comes to the important things in life. He inherits six penguins that turn his swanky New York apartment into a snowy winter wonderland and turn the rest of his life upside down.
