Klepto Kitty Burglarizes California Neighborhood

A San Mateo, Calif., couple recently hosted a yard sale to make amends with their neighbors -- but it wasn't really a sale.

Mainly, it was a chance for neighbors to reclaim missing items that the couple's cat, Dusty, had stolen.

"Klepto the Cat," as his neighbors now call him, was featured on the Animal Planet after stealing small items around the neighborhood.

The feline has stolen more than 600 items for the course of three years. His owners said it's a full-time job to return the items day after day -- until now.

"Dusty brought all these things and what we're hoping for is the owners to come and claim it," said Jean Chu, Dusty's owner. "Don't leave anything outside that you don't want gone. And if you are missing something, come to our house.

Dusty's notoriety has not only landed him on TV -- he's also been asked to be the grand marshall in the town's upcoming pet parade.
