Old Man Winter's icy grasp on the U.S. Northeast continues as a spring snowstorm is on its way to the region.
Parts of New Jersey, New York, and New England could see up to a foot of snow Friday morning.
Forecasters say unfortunately it's not an April Fool's joke as the timing of the storm could make for a messy commute.
The region has struggled with brutal snow storms over what has proved to be a long, white winter. Many cities have seen record or near-record snowfalls.
The storm could also bring up to 12 inches of snow to the mountains of central Vermont.
The coastal areas of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut may get mostly rain or wet snow without any accumulation.
No snow was expected in New York City, but the National Weather Service said commuters could see a rain-snow mix Friday morning.
