A coalition of pro-life groups is pressuring members of Congress this week to end funding for Planned Parenthood.
Members of the Expose Planned Parenthood Coalition are mobilizing activists to call and visit their representative's district offices or attend town hall meetings.
Lila Rose, president of Live Action, filmed a grassroots call-to-action in the nation's capitol, announcing the Week of Action campaign scheduled for March 21-25.
The video asks pro-life activists to join in the effort to defund Planned Parenthood of the $363 million it receives in government funds each year by contacting their lawmakers during the Week of Action.
"The momentum behind defunding Planned Parenthood is building," SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement released Monday.
"The message from the grassroots has been clear. The time to end taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood is right now," she said. "Whether in a short-term or long-term Continuing Resolution, defunding Planned Parenthood in this bill is a non-negotiable."
Pro-life groups participating in the Week of Action include the Susan B. Anthony List, Family Research Council Action, 40 Days for Life, Students for Life of America, Concerned Women for America, Catholic Vote, LifeNews.com, American Values, and Catholic Advocate.
