The pro-life organization, 40 days for Life, kicked off its eighth international initiative this week.
The organization is sponsoring a community-based campaign with a vision to end abortion. It asks people to partake in prayer and fasting to help end legal abortions.
Local advocates of the campaign incorporate prayer and fasting outside of abortion clinics.
Organizers say this year's campaign launch is the largest ever held. The event will run in 247 cities in the U.S. as well as sites in Canada, Australia, England, Spain, Georgia, Armenia and Belize.
There have been seven coordinated 40 Days for Life campaigns since 2007, according to the group's website.
They say their efforts have mobilized people of faith and conscience in 337 cities across all 50 of the United States plus six Canadian provinces, three Australian states, and communities in Northern Ireland and Denmark.
The campaign runs through April 17.
