People from around the world recently gathered in Texas just hoping for enough breeze to blow through to send their kites airborne.
The Zilker Park Kite Festival is an annual event that draws over 20,000 spectators and thousands of kite flyers every year. For some participants, this year's festival wasn't just a time to enjoy the weather but a way to honor their former homes.
"We're all very excited and we're all from Taiwan. We all love flying kites," one participant said. "I remember when I was little, the higher the better. Very seldom do we see our national flag abroad so this is a touching moment."
The festival is in its 83rd year, the longest-running kite festival of its kind in America.
