Academy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Taylor was laid to rest Thursday near Los Angeles, Calif.
Throughout her acting career, the world seemed captivated by Taylor's beauty and celebrity.
CBN News spoke with World Magazine columnist Andree Seu for insight on how Christian women should reflect on beauty.
Seu said there's nothing wrong with pursuing physical beauty, but not at the expense of the inward beauty.
"Elizabeth Taylor was a beautiful woman physically. There's no doubt about that. That's a gift from God. And I think every woman wants to be beautiful. Every woman wants to take someone's breath away," Seu explained. "But the good news that every woman needs to understand is that every woman can be beautiful because God has shown us how and given us the grace to do it. He shows us the 'what' of beauty in 1 Peter 3.
"He talks about things like a gentle and quiet spirit and reverence and modesty and submissiveness. And all of these things are accessible to us because we have the grace of God in us," she continued. "And I think as we press into these things that God conforms us into the image of Christ and makes us beautiful."
Seu added that men value "a woman who is modest," and when it comes to settling down, "that's the kind of beauty a man wants."
