A bestselling book about a 4-year-old's journey to heaven will soon to made into a movie.
Deadline.com reported that Sony Pictures has acquired the screen rights to the book titled "Heaven is for Real."
The book tells the story of Colton Burpo who had to have emergency surgery for a burst appendix. After the surgery, he began telling his parents that he had been to heaven and had met his miscarried sister and his deceased grandfather.
Burpo's father is a pastor, who decided to write a book about his son's experience.
The boy's story was featured on "The 700 Club" and other television programs and radio shows across the country.
The book has become a surprise bestseller, hitting No. 1 on the New York Times paperback, non-fiction list.
Pastor T.D. Jakes will co-produce the movie.
