Florida's Republican-controlled legislature has voted to 80-37 to place an amendment on the 2012 ballot aimed at thwarting the Obama administration's healthcare law.

The measure would ban government requirements to buy health insurance.
    
Some legal experts say the amendment will not be effective because federal law takes priority over state measures.

The state legislature passed a similar measure last year, but the Florida Supreme Court struck it from the ballot.
