Should Christians Rejoice over Bin Laden's Death?

Ad Feedback

The killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has sparked celebration around the country and the world.

But many Christians have expressed their hesitation in rejoicing over the death of our enemies.

Certainly, celebrating the death of another human being does not align with God's commandment of having love and compassion for others.

Should Christians pray instead? Reach out to Muslims? Correct those who are rejoicing?

CBN News spoke by phone with Richard Land, leader of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, about this tension. Listen to his response.
