Love conquers all in Bishop T.D. Jake's new romantic comedy "Jumping the Broom," due in theaters this weekend.
The film, starring Paula Patton and Laz Alonso, tells story of how two families from very different worlds converge on Martha's Vineyard for a weekend wedding.
"The art of forgiveness is an important theme throughout the movie," Jakes told Focus on the Family's Plugged-In. "I think when families lose their ability to forgive, they lose their ability to survive."
Other movies scheduled to be released this weekend include "There Be Dragons," the fictional account of St. Josemaría Escrivá's spiritual and physical journey through the Spanish Civil War, and Marvel Studio's superhero flick "Thor."
Which of these films is safe for the family to watch this Mother's Day weekend? Focus on the Family film critic Bob Waliszewski answered that question on the CBN News Channel's Midday News.
