Two dozen Texas children have new homes and last names, thanks to Adoption Day.
On Thursday, Texas juvenile courts opened their doors to families waiting to finalize the adoptions of children from foster care.
The day was a blessing to both the parents and the children involved.
Maria and David Cardena waited their turn to adopt their foster child named Rosie.
Rosie came into their home in February and proved to be an answer to their prayers.
"We've been married for 21 years. We tried for 21 years," the Cardenas said. "We both can't have kids, but God gave us a gift. God gave us her."
Applause filled the courtroom when the judge announced the Cardenas adoption of Rosie as final.
Since 2000, more than 35,000 children have had their adoptions finalized, thanks to an Adoption Day.
