A group of nurses employed with University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey are suing the hospital for requiring them to participate in abortions.

The 12 nurses say a new policy requires them to assist in the grim procedure or lose their jobs, making no allowance for their Christian beliefs.
    
The Alliance Defense Fund is representing the litigants. Attorneys claim federal and state law protects their clients from being forced to take part in the procedure.
