The Christian film "Courageous" is still going strong at the box office.
The movie, which stresses the importance of fatherhood, made $4.6 million in ticket sales for the second weekend since its release.
The faith-based film's production budget was a modest $2 million.
The movie was the sixth most popular film in the nation, despite showing in only one-third the number of theaters as other studio-produced films.
The independent movie debuted in only 1,126 theaters across the country, but made $9 million at the box office its opening weekend.
"Courageous" was produced by Sherwood Pictures, the movie ministry of the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., and is released by Sony/Tri-Star.
The church has produced other motion pictures, including the 2008 hit "Fireproof," which was the top independent film of that year.
