Would you rather hire a young teenage baby sitter or a grandma who has years of experience raising children?
Many parents would opt for the grandma, a choice on which Todd Pliss has sought to capitalize.
In 2010, Pliss quit his job as a tutor to child stars to found the babysitting service, Rent A Grandma.
The Californian man said when a busy set of parents need a little help, who better to call than grandma? Based on the success of his business, many parents agree.
"I'm not opposed to using teenaged sitters," Rent A Grandma client Ana Caldwell said. "I think that's just fine."
"But with the added confidence with someone who has maybe been a mom and raised their children before -- it just gives you added confidence," she added.
Although Pliss started his business in California, Rent A Grandma franchises can now be found all over the country.
