A California minister infamous for its failed apocalyptic predictions claims the world will end Friday.
Harold Camping of Oakland-based Family Radio International previously predicted that the rapture would take true Christians to heaven on May 21.
But when that doomsday scenario didn't occur, the 90-year-old Camping said God's judgment and salvation were completed on May 21. He then predicted that the unsaved and physical world would be annihilated Oct. 21.
Ministry officials have declined to offer further comment on the matter.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but we at Family Radio have been directed to not talk to the media or the press," Camping's daughter Susan Espinoza wrote in an email to the Christian Science Monitor.
