Kentucky is once again the king of college basketball. The Wildcats beat Kansas 67-59, and scored their eighth national title in school history.
Freshman center Anthony Davis won the Most Outstanding Player title.
He scored only six points but grabbed 16 rebounds and tied the NCAA championship game record with six blocked shots.
"The fans, the Big Blue Nation, all the people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, we did this for them, too," head coach John Calipari said. "We know what it means to them."
"We know 5,000 of them camped out for our first practice, and we go around and meet them all," he added. This is Calipari's first title win.
Fan celebrations left at least one man injured. He was shot in Lexington as thousands were celebrating the University of Kentucky's win.
The fire chief said he saw the shooting as he was filling out paperwork at an accident.
